From September – October, 2016, Angela was invited to co-facilitate a six-week prison programme at HMP Eastwood Park. The Forgiveness Project’s RESTORE programme is an intensive, group based intervention that encourages prisoners to explore concepts of forgiveness and reparation in a framework that fosters greater accountability and responsibility. Angela helped develop the already powerful and successful structure of the course to include art.
“You gave me the gift of art. I have never tried before but it was like being freed. The colours and actions gave me an instant calm that I have never experienced before. Everyday now I have pictures and colours hammering in my chest demanding to be freed onto paper – its like they were always there – I have just never listened before. All I can say is thank you a million times!” Prisoner, HMP Eastwood Park
