WRITER & BLOGGER
For as long as I can remember I have written. It started with letters, diaries, travel journals and later became notebooks, lectures, blogs and now a book. I use writing as a way to document, explore, question, understand and share.
My monthly blogs respond to current affairs that relate either to our Criminal Justice System or Germany’s and Britain’s differing cultures of World War 2 Remembrance, plus art’s role in both. I am particularly interested in the dynamics of forgiveness, apology, atonement and redemption and their roles in those areas of society where guilt and shame reside.

I haven’t worked with many terrorists during my prison years but there was one who for years I, and my class of eight male prisoners, called ‘Habibi’ – the word for ‘my darling’ as we later found out.
